Change of Seasons

Seasons change in nature; and in life. Seasons can change abruptly or overlap slowly. Spring, summer, fall, and winter. A season can start earlier than expected or be delayed. The Scripture is true, For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
Personally what season are you experiencing now? Alabama has quickly moved from spring into summer. Spring was short-lived; summer came early. Life can reflect this same pattern. Plans meant for late spring had to be canceled due to the extremely hot temperatures, not expected until later in the summer. Life can reflect season adjustments as well.
When I was younger I had many goals and plans. I had one-year, five-year, twenty-year goals. I thought that I knew how I would reach each one in my life. As a middle-aged person my goals and plans had to be modified. The goals remained the same, but the plans continued to be altered by life.
Many of the goals for the autumn of my life never happened. Some were short-circuited by wrong decisions and choices. Occasionally, I was blessed to enjoy a few of the goals. In my heart I knew many were not going to happen. Time has a way of letting us know.
I officially retired three weeks ago at age 68. In the grand scheme of things I am still very young. In the corporate world I am old. In God's plan for my life I am right on time with where I am suppose to be. For everything there is a season and a time.
